You might try to save your shots at a lower .jpg resolution -- there's a lot of pixelation here that is hurting an otherwise nice image. The shot is only 70K, which is less than half of the quality you could have submitted it. Let me know if I can help you save images at a higher quality.

First, image quality is very poor, (JPEG artefacts, low definition). Isoliting a tree is a good idea, but would have been more punchy if taken closer to the ground, placing the tree in the hill and sky background only. Little wood just behind is reducing the power you want to associate to the sentence you quoted.

I think the concept is good for this challenge type. The background (chair and bench(?) ) and the print on the tablecloth are distracting to me. Perhaps taking the picture with only a plain table as the background would've worked better. My only other suggestion would be some 'tweaking' is a photo program to brighten this up a bit, enhance the colors, and a little unsharp mask. Not a bad try, though.

A nice still life illustrates an irony that is something of a cliche (look at all the entries on this theme). This makes a nice picture, but a tighter crop to get rid of some of the distracting background might have made it even better.
