Early Birdsby SubGeniusKittyComment by Steef: i love this shot. you'll find that images like this, although beautiful and very artistic, don't often do well in challenges but are frequently recognized by a subset of members. the blur is perfect and i even like the crop |

Early Birdsby SubGeniusKittyComment by SubGeniusKitty: To answer the comments, the blur was intended on this shot. I had two camera with me that morning. One was my trusty EOS-3 loaded with Tmax pushed to ISO 25k and a 176mm f/0.8 lens and the other was my new(to me) 10D. I used the EOS-3 for my normal pre-dawn shots but decided to try out the digital with some long shutter speeds to get a sense of movement since I could use it's preview screen to see the results and adjust accordingly. After returning home to develop the film, I greatly preferred the shots like the one posted here over the static sharp shots from the film that morning. |

Early Birdsby SubGeniusKittyComment by J-Me: Almost an impressionist version. I like the blur to this even though it likely wasn't intended. It takes a quick shutter speed and, or a tripod to get this type of a shot in focus. Not easily done without a steady hand. Still, a great abstract look to it. :) |

Early Birdsby SubGeniusKittyComment by scottieham: I definitely like the moment you've captured with them all coming in for a landing. Its tough capturing something that early, but I like sharp images and you would probably need a shutter speed of about 1/200-1/250 in order to hand hold that lens and get sharp images. |

Early Birdsby SubGeniusKittyComment by JuliBoc: I enjoy the action you captured, and the color. I'm a fan of blur when used for artistic effect. Done well here.
