I like the beams of light and shadows playing in the hills. Wish I didn't have to look so hard to see them. A sacrifice in width to pull those hills in closer may have paid off. The cloud foreground, for me, doesn't add anything except a distraction.

Congrats on the HM. You were in my top three, and while I suspect this photo's "homage to Ansel" took into account his zone system (something I believe works far better applied to color than B&W), I believe a treatment that brought some of the blacks to full black while also boosting some of the shadow detail would have made it my #1 as it's a very well executed exposure.

Here's an image that invites one to ponder. The miniaturization of the people invites thought of our place in this immensity. The foreground and background, whatever in nature that is, are overwhelming. Not knowing what the background is amplifies the great mysteries of, well, everything. The color palette is serene and generous. In its quiet way, dazzling.
