a sinking selfie from a not quite frozen planetby mefnjComment by gyaban: So very audacious. First of all, I love the angle you chose, although this is a complex one to handle properly in a composite - which you managed perfectly. Then, your choice of colors works beautifully, the rainbow-ish flare is a nice touch, and the glowing effect on the highlights brings the final touch. I say, great work. |

The Last Train To Weedsvilleby mefnjComment by Mond: It's hard today to make an image that stands out technically, modern digital camersas are that good. Some photographers deliberately trash camera control to create a retro look, usually with unattractvely blurred results, others turn to specialist filters. Sticking your head up your backside and pretending to be offended when such filters are used is silly when such good results are obtained, and instead of slamming creativity we ought to be embracing and exploring these tools like we would with any other new innovation in photography. |

a lost Picasso by mefnjComment by mefnj: Originally posted by tvsometime: Good find but I can't help but feel that it could have been much stronger in monochrome or at least not so color-saturated. |
i played with bw and less saturated colors... but then i felt the bright colors fit the "picasso" style more. it is not my personal preference, through. |
