I really like this... the only thing im not a big fan of is the line goes out of the frame on the right.. it feels too centered and it takes my eye out of the shot. (Not sure if im explaining myself right... I hope I am!) 9 from me! :)

I'm not a big fan of out of focus images, but I like this...the bokeh is beautiful. One distracting element for me is the highlighted leaf going across the image. Regardless I like and I gave you an 8.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: It's been a long time since I've seen a selective desaturation look this good. It is perfectly (and eclectically) judged and the tones in the background add considerably to the overall effect. Those browns and the blue complement each other perfectly.

Critical stuff: Nothing really

Overall: How to make gimmicky not. Excellent.
