Simply a columnby vadviragComment by vadvirag: Thank you all for your helpful comments. :-) Unfortunately DOF is difficult to adjust on my full-automatic camera, actually it does what it wants - but I hope I will have my new camera soon. :-) The leaning effect is because of the angle. |

Simply a columnby vadviragComment by oldgit: Cant decide if this talks to me or not. Nice cool lines, but not sure if I like the somewhat grotty pedestal.... dunno... |

Simply a columnby vadviragComment by Rooster: I like the idea & that it is bw. The collum seems to be leaning a bit, not sure of it is the angle at which you took the shot or what. It is simple but seems to lack a little bit of umph. Dunno... |

Queen of Heartsby vadviragComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Marta :)
I really enjoy this photo. This is one of the relatively few instances of desaturating all but one color that seems to work very nicely. I see this technique used here frequently but can rarely determine the reason for it. Red is a color of strength and power and you have used that to your advantage in this photograph.
I also like the composition you have chosen in this still life. You created an interesting diagonal with the card and anchored that to the corner of the frame with the rose. This photo exhibits the fact that you have a good eye for composition :)

You have also just created the highest scoring photo on DPChallenge with your model of camera :) This supports the fact that the camera is NOT the deciding factor in whether a photo is great or not :)
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing much more from you :)
John Setzler

Money has you!by vadviragComment by kiwiness: Forint, that's Hungarian isn't it? Nice B&W toning, good cropping and not too soft. When shooting models you should allow more distance between the model and the backdrop to reduce such shadows as you have behind his head and behind the money. (8) |
