Some images truly do tell a story... and this is one of them.

You have managed to depict the dejection and loneliness associated with parental neglect. The dejected mood of the child, replete with hunched shoulders, coupled with the ambience brought upon by the lights... all of these truly lend themselves to a feeling of "Desolation".

I already voted a while ago, now I'm back for commenting. I gave this picture a 10. I think it conveys the meaning well. Made me quite depressed to tell the truth. I just hope this was a setup shot for the childs sake because I actually know how this feels.
