(posting on both shots and not voting)
Absolutely lovely photo, but after seeing this already in a challenge and seeing another nearly identical photo in this one I'm very much inclined to vote lower than I would had this been the first time I was seeing the shot. With that said, I much prefer the "30+ Second" image to either of these.

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that contributes well to the challenge

A very appealing landscape with great foreground interest and detail from this lovely textured and coloured wood stump. The near mono of the landscape really helps make the wood stand out and brings out the lovely detail of this battered and weathered wood that as your title suggests has travelled many miles driven by the forces of nature to this its present temporary resting place. The black volcanic sands act as a great contrasting backdrop for the wood making it stand out much more than a typical sandy beach. The small aperture and effective use of focal point have worked really well to give you the full depth of field necessary to make this image work as well as it does, well done Otto.

I like how you brought out the vivid tones in the branch, thought it was a piece of meat at first :)

Greetings from the Critique Club!

First things first ... CONGRATS on adding another blue ribbon to your beautiful portfolio. :)

Next, the challenge requirements are definitely met here with the 246 secs. The clarity you achieved with the extended exposure is beautiful. I love the details of the rocks and how they are balanced by the smoothness of that wonderful fog. The reds and yellows in the sky bring warmth to the coolness of the water and reinforce the balance I see/feel when looking at your scene.

I'm afraid I can't evaluate the processing from a technical perspective (still learning on that front) but you've wonderfully captured textures and shadows throughout. The giant pillared rocks in the distance are incredible. If I stare long enough I start to see a winding external staircase up to a castle tower (largest) or the claw of a monstrous sea creature (far left). I can't find a thing to complain about. It just feels magical to me. Thank you for creating this masterpiece for us.
