I think this is a wonderful photo! Of course, being the "mother" in the picture gives me a somewhat slanted view. But I will add that I am very proud of my sister's photography. She has amazing talent!

That's pretty bad, but my first wife would put raisins in the mashed potatos! That marriage didn't last very long.

The colors, especially the plate are wonderful. I like the idea of playing with your food being a habit but without the title, I would have just thought that this was a photo of some sort of mashed potato and pea dish - perhaps a fork in the frame would help. The colors/contrast could be bumped just a smidge. The composition is really good, I like the choice of a plate with banding on it - it helps to pull the eye around the frame.

Terrible. Out of focus, badly framed, poorly exposed but worst of all, not at all interesting. Go on, print this out A2 size and hang it on your wall...I dare you!

That a Fiesta plate, isn't it? Love 'em. Very original idea; I would have liked "seeing" the food being played with. Very pixelated on my monitor.

Focus is a little distracting for me, I'm not sure where to look. Colours are good - I like the blue plate.

Meets the challenge, but .... well I can't really say much more about it. It certainly doesn't inspire that WOW we are all looking for.

Lighting is flat, composition is lacking a way to lead the eye to the subject, the potatoes have no texture or relief, and I can't imagine what the brown is at the top.

Sorry thats so brutal.

This is a pretty dull picture- the lighting on the subject is flat with no interesting shadows or highlights. The colors all look faded as well. The most interesting part to me is the lines on the plate in the lower left.

Did you know that one of the secrets to taking a good picture of food is to lean the white balance toward the warm side? It's true... little know fact. This pictures too blue ("cool")...Still makes the hugry though.
