Symbol of Strengthby silverleafComment by ccraft: For some reason we always get a lot of american flags in these challenges. I like to vote on a) uniqueness and originality b) good composition c) excellent lighting that makes the image "pop" (I have trouble with this myself) d) good DOF (if appropriate) and e) a crisp, clear image free of tons of noise and compression artifacts. I'm starting to feel the american flags are not as unique anymore. This one has good composition and the lighting (compared to others in this challenge) really enhances the image, plus it's sharp and clear. The deeper blue in teh sky may have worked well, but overall it's very nice. I realize I'm only one voter. This is actually one of the best flag images in this challenge (or in others) and I know it is a symbol of strength to the many americans who participate in these challenges, I'm just finding the symbolism doesn't speak much to me and it's not a very unique idea anymore - 6 |

Symbol of Strengthby silverleafComment by fstopopen: you could have flopped this 180 degrees. we are trained to look at a flag with the pole on the left. there is no rule, but it would have been more appealing. |

Symbol of Strengthby silverleafComment by SharQ: A very subjective submission. I think this is a symbol of power (without going into the discussion as to wether or not the power is deserved), but not necessarily of strength. |

Symbol of Strengthby silverleafComment by tezza73uk: Great colour saturation, shame the flag is the wrong way round. Did u consider flippin it? Possibly zoom out a bit? Or crop tighter at the top? |

Searching the Groundby silverleafComment by Dibutil: Lighting, composition, color, detail: +++!
But the title is not creative. The expression on the face can mean anything here! There is definitely some thought caught - what is it? May be the answer is in the scene he was watching? |

Ahhh... Coffeeby silverleafComment by Natator: Not at all surprised this came last, sorry.
I assume the humour here is meant to be that it is not a portrait, it's a "mug shot" ... but it really did mean it missed the point of the challenge, Shame, nice photo for the right challenge. |
