The Celloby silverleafComment by aznym: Good focus and composition. There's a nice flow to this image. The reflections on the cello are not easy on the eye and they destroy this image. This would have been a beautiful image if the lights were better controlled. I suggest using diffusers and reflectors. It would soften the overall lights falling on the subject and will reduce the harsh highlights. Also the way it is now, it would be worth trying some desaturation on this shot. Try decreasing saturation on red, blue and magenta (maybe some yellow too).
Anyway, I am suggesting all this because I do see potential in this shot and I do think that you can achieve much better results from the same composition.
Good luck. |

The Celloby silverleafComment by photom: Good idea - it works pretty well except for the glares on the instrument. Softer lighting would most likely make it more pleasing. Excellent focus on the strings. |

The Celloby silverleafComment by graphicfunk: I love f holes. This is a very nice study yet I wish I could see the wood texture better. Nevertheless, a very strong image with nice warm colo. |

All Doneby silverleafComment by MrAkamai: I studied this for a long time trying to think of different ways this could have been accomplished. I think your way is probably one of the better ways and how I might have done it as well. I imagined that the child's mother or father just called saying it's time to go. The child collected the chalk, got up and started to walk away. Very well done and well executed. The icing on the cake, to me at least, is the motion blur. This is one of those very simple yet very effective photos. 10 |
