Edisonby hokieComment by Kavey: I imagine it was a deliberate decision to have the white glass of the bulb melt into the background but for me that means I am struggling to drawn in the lines of the bulb which my mind knows are there, and therefore getting annoyed at the negative space colour choice rather than enjoying it. I like the viewpoint on the bulb and the composition of the shot, but in my personal opinion, I am not keen on the white bleeding to white in this one. 6, Kavey |

Edisonby hokieComment by hypoStiller: This is very simply a beautiful shot. The light bulb has always been a good metaphor for Edison because he was involved in its creation, and also because light bulbs have been used for decades to show -- bing! -- the occurrence of an idea, and then there's the pun en"light"enment, etc. It's subtle, but to me the negative space (above the bulb) is used to indicate an inviting gap upward for creativity, as if to say, "Here we are, and it's great, and there's so much more to discover!" 8 |

Edisonby hokieComment by Amphian: Great idea! The lighting and framing are perfect. I love the way the light bulb blends into the background. |

Edisonby hokieComment by johnny_justjohnny: sweet the way the bulb fades into the white, really hit the challenge on the nose, only gave you a 9 'cause the subject matter ain't the most compelling, the guy with the bike rider flying through the air spoiled it for everybody. |

Edisonby hokieComment by scw1217: A great idea for this topic. I like the way the bulb disappears into the background. |

Edisonby hokieComment by artemis8: I'm sure some others won't but I like how the lower half of the bulb fades into the background. It makes this photo feel more relevant to the challenge to me. Can't quite explain it. |
