Spice of Lifeby ddmckinney1954Comment by jpochard: I would have liked this maybe against a different background. IMO, the DOF needs to be increased and parts of it appear over-shapened. |

Spice of Lifeby ddmckinney1954Comment by Artifacts: Concept and composition is good but technically this is not a well put together image. The image needs needs an interesting focal point. Lack of a good focal point is an error I often commitmyself. You could have equipment limitations but the .jpg artifacts visible around the edges might mean you saved this as a .jpg file more than one time. |

Spice of Lifeby ddmckinney1954Comment by justine: I love the different colors, textures and shapes. Neat idea.
You have a very narrow [dof] area of focus here, maybe /deeper/wider would of been a bit better for this shot. |

Spice of Lifeby ddmckinney1954Comment by e301: Cookbook shot, especially that v shallow DOF - very trendy these days. Doesn't do much for me in terms of texture. Within the focal plane the sharpness seems extreme - a granular quality has come in, which loks processed to me and has reduced the subtlety of the detail there. |

Spice of Lifeby ddmckinney1954Comment by Nebulous: I find the lighting a bit strong here. Also in my opinion you whole subject should be within your depth of field which is not the case here. Good luck. |

Florida Goldby ddmckinney1954Comment by jodiecoston: You've definitely used depth of field very well to draw attention to the front orange slice. The whites on the orange are just a tiny bit overexposed, so the viewer misses seeing detail in the main subject, which is a bit of a distraction. |
