Cool tractor, that hasn't moved in a while. How did you convert to B+W? Looks like you might have went straight to grayscale. In photoshop I like to use image-adjustments-Black and white... it gives me more control to add contrast

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Interesting high macro offered with an almost clinical presentation. Quite different to most ladybug shots we see.

Critical stuff: I'm not a fan of the reflection / highlight - was your light source diffused at all?

Overall: An interesting shot albeit a little bit ugly!
