I think it was an extremely creative idea and I gave it a 7 (along with 20 other people. The fact that you got 8 10s and 12 7s is very interesting to me. It goes to show how different people view art & creativity.

I'll chime in with an echo of what's been previously stated: some people weren't able to think broad enough to have this meet the challenge. I personally thought that the idea was clever and original for the challenge. If you compare your score with the average given by commenters you'll see that the people who "got it" generally really like it

As VitaminB already stated, your shot suffered from the same symptoms as mine; too many narrow minded voters that thought this isn't "footwear" in the strictest sense. This was my highest rated shot, it may not be the best technically, but among the best conceptually.

While I know you are disappointed by your score, here is one thing to consider; you did get 8 10's in this challenge. While your photo didn't appeal to everyone, it did get a very positive reaction out of those 8 people, and offended at least 12 people enough to vote you a 1. The 1's might also be explained by some people thinking this didnt meet the challenge. While I personally think it did, others might take a more literal interpretation of the challenge title and disagree with me (and you).
