First impression, beautiful image. I personally love a good high contrast B/W image, and this is a great example. If I had to complain about anything, I'd say it lists to the left just a bit. Whether that's actually true or not it's hard to say, but it feels that way to me. The blown out lights don't bother me at all, but that'll get you marked down by many a DPCer. I agree that is could be a bit sharper, but for a 30 second shot without a tripod you done good. :) As far as score goes, this is a pretty good shot but not an amazing shot to most voters. Especially in a free study you really need to bring the wow to get a big score. With that said, I recommend that you don't pander to the masses. I think you've got a great style, and there will always be a minority (at least) that really appreciate it.

I'm sure I won't be the first to say that what I think will keep this from being at the top of the pack is the lack of added text which to me, turns it into an advertisement for a zoo. Otherwise, it's an awesome photo, very professionally done.
