Blue eyesby sarampoComment by lawrysimm: Top ten image. Nice use of desat though my only criticism is that there are some thin red blood vessels visible at the left hand edge. I would have liked to see them desaturated too as they add nothing to the image. There is also a speck of purple/red at the crux of the eyelid on the far edge which makes it look untidy. Overall though, these are minor criticisms and this is still a great image. Good luck for a strong finish. |

Metal to metal, rust to rust by sarampoComment by LandzEnca: now this one is a winner. sadly, there was no competition. all the other entries did not take the challenge very well. but even if there were a handful of entries that deserve good praises, this one stands out. blue from me, if not top ten. |

Like the desat but would have liked to see more of the eyelashes in focus |

Metal to metal, rust to rust by sarampoComment by Abra: This is a great find and well shot. I particularly like the similar colours of the sky with the crane and how it's softness contrast nicely with the sharpness of your subject. The bridge and city in the background adds extra interest to your shot.
A couple of things that don't quite work for me is the over brightness of the lights and that they are also not very sharp (did you use a sturdy tripod and locked your camera mirror?). The shadows around the crane are a little distracting but you may not have had any control over that. I wonder if getting in closer and down lower (shooting up the crane with more sky) may have been worth a try?
I do like this and gave it an 8. |
