O-mageby ClubJuggleComment by kiwiness: The sepia toning works well here, and I particularly like the crop you chose. And of course you've met the challenge 4 times over :-) (8) |

O-mageby ClubJuggleComment by johnny_justjohnny: nice creative shot, good choice to put the rows of vertical lines behind it, compliments the roundness.
oh hey, and as long as you're in dc, i suggest checking out the dismemberment plan's concert at fort reno, july 28. outdoor show, the main band starts during magic hour, last year i got some really nice pictures of fugazi.

O-mageby ClubJuggleComment by Lustre: Nice crisp image. Technically it's very good and I guess it meets the challenge even though it's not really round. |

Battlefieldby ClubJuggleComment by Lustre: Critique Club:
Composition: I like the composition of your shot. The two cannons are nicely framed and they make me wonder what is out to the left of the frame. They do, however, blend heavily into the background and are relatively hard to see. I like the aspect ratio of this shot and it looks like the shot was taken from low down, which I also like.
Technical Quality: The black and white conversion let's your shot down. It looks like you might have had exposure problems with a very bright sky as well. It may have been possible to convert different colours to grey differently to provide more contrast between the cannons and the trees.
Meeting Challenge: I like your approach at meeting the challenge. It's not the most literal interpretation, which is actually nice.
Overall: I really like the composition and content of this shot. Personally I would try to convert to grey scale again - I'm sure there are some people who could help out with creative ways of doing the conversion (or search the web). Well done. |
