this seems a very warm and affectionate portrayal of a warm and friendly person. quite appealing, the light through the glasses. there is a focus issue. also a bit of grain but the focus issue predominates. some people probably also take exception with what's in the bg right above her forehead :)

I think you have done a great job of capturing your subject in this photo. The pose is fine and the composition is excellent. I think this image may be lacking some of the important qualities of black and white images in general. The tonal range in this image is fairly flat. There is not much on the high level end of the histogram probably. This image has a casual mood, but the background setting could be considered somewhat distracting with the stronger contrasts that are visible there. The grain works well, but I think that a little extra sharpness would be good as well. Possibly some more light would bring out the detail in the dark shirt also... - setzler

I know you wanted to get the lights in the shot but there is too much negative space. Especially the road in front. I also have a problem with the light that obliterates the name of the place which should be the focal point. A really good idea that needs just a bit of work, I think. DPz

This photo needs something, like a thousand people on the outside waiting to get in. As far as grand openings go, this looks more like a regular day. The people being there would make it a whole lot more newspaper worthy - Inspzil

kind of a lot of empty top and bottom, keep on taking long exposures at night though they rule.
