Daffodil 1by Elzbells47Comment by michaelmonn: i like the two white flowers in the background :) could you have positioned yourself differently as to not cut off the 1st white flower and to not cut off part of the yellow flower's petal? as said before the harsh shadow in the cup of the flower detracts from the picture. |

daffodil 3by Elzbells47Comment by michaelmonn: i agree with rlewis that this flower either needs a bath or alot of cloning in PS but i will say i like how it is back lit sometimes back lighting can produce really awesome pictures because of the differences in translucency of different parts of the flower itself |

daffodil 4by Elzbells47Comment by michaelmonn: since the focus is on the center part of the flower it is really important that it is illuminated and not darker and the out of focus parts. for some reason the petals of the flower seem to have a tiny bit of a greenish tint on my monitor (could just be my monitor although it is pretty spot on for colors) and i feel like it could benefit from a little work on curves and levels ( there are tons of threads in the tips forum b/c thats how i started everything too :) ) |

daffodil 5by Elzbells47Comment by michaelmonn: i like how it seems like the flower is watching over everything, but i agree with other people that a reflector could be used to better illuminate the subject and bring out detail better :) |

Daffodil 2by Elzbells47Comment by fldave: My least favorite of your posted photos... the house in the bg adds nothing to the image. Your other shots are better, and the flower is a fine choice for backlighting. |

daffodil 5by Elzbells47Comment by rlewis: Pay attention to where your camera is choosing for the focus point, you want it on the right point on the flower. |

daffodil 4by Elzbells47Comment by rlewis: Another thing that flower photography needs is an even light, notice the harsh shadow line in the cup of the daffodil. That isn't pleasant to the human eye. You can avoid this by using something to diffuse the light....either a translucent reflector or something simpler that will let light through yet soften the shadowing |

daffodil 3by Elzbells47Comment by rlewis: One of the keys to flower photography is picking the right flower, this one needs a bath. You will get prettier images from flowers which have just opened and not faded and had debris thrown up on them. |

daffodil 5by Elzbells47Comment by Judi: Watch your focus....try a tripod for crisper results. I like the background...it tells a story. |

Yellowby Elzbells47Comment by Judi: Nice. But needs more light on the foreground...try a reflector or some Shadow/Highlight in processing. |
