Strengthby bcrantsComment by bohemka: I love this. Maybe because it reminds me of what I like to take, or at least hope to take. Strength is the word. Powerful shot. Well done. |

Strengthby bcrantsComment by giantmike: Great classic photo of classic architecture. Not sure if I like or dislike the halo effect, as it kind of works to separate the building from the sky. |

Strengthby bcrantsComment by mycelium: I like the solemnity of this photo, but the bright, thick halo really detracts. |

Strengthby bcrantsComment by bassbone: i love how the sunlight is just licking the front columns - i just am not crazy about the harsh halo around the roofline |

Strengthby bcrantsComment by Matthew: I'd like to know where this is - looks a bit too well preserved to be original. Nice angle and light - but the big imposing agreement for me needs a bit more context to make sense of it. |

Strengthby bcrantsComment by Bear_Music: When I see pictures like this, I always wonder to myself "Does the maker actually not SEE the halo around the subject?" Look at it in the thumnail and it's glaringly obvious.
It's otherwise a beautifully-rendered B/W conversion. |

A Quiet Leaderby bcrantsComment by kaiser_chief: I am sure many have commented on the Haloing........I take it that it was intentional. While many will object to such a processing method, I think instead it is there to both make a statement and to overemphasize the subject. It does both.........In tying with the title, the halo does give a feel of leadership, of importance, like a lighting around someone who has presence when they walk into the room. You have, by processing, produced a symbolic way of showing that presence........As a result, you have made a statement which stands out amid the other entries........ |
