Heavy compression artifacts and a resulting loss of smoothness and detail are really hurting an entry that I would otherwise give a pretty good vote to. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (150k for this one)

Any editing software has contrast adjustement, and for the noise, you can use Neat Image, there is a free version of it.
