This looks like something my Mom would make! (Are you my MOM?). It's not just the cake, but the cup and saucer, lace, and mostly the Fairy Godmother! I give it a 10!

I love this concept that you were going for, the sun being exposed through the trees but to be honest the filter you used to create the prism effect really hurt the shot to me. While the colors are very pretty it washes out the rest of the shot to me and make the center of attention, the sun a distraction instead of an attraction. I'm starting this one at a 4 but I will be back to study it more.

I think the cup of coffee and one slice of cake would have been better. It's over done imho. I like the crochet table cloth...that works well. Too many elements overall, and it needs to be simplified. Just my opinions, hope they help.

Grayce

An interesting image using what looks like a star burst filter.

Any PPing done has kept the exposure under control but challeng wise not met enough for my understanding.

Nice focus. A little bit more light from above/ behind would help eliminate the shadows. There is a little bit of a tilt too. From a compositional view point, It's a little busy. There are too many competing visual patterns or textures.

Maybe a little too much clutter and no actual focal point, composition sits well together but there is too much scattering, a little off level on the shot which I imagine to be hard to correct in the way of after wards in photoshop or the like as the cup of tea/coffee would then we un-level.

YUM! That cake looks very good. I'll be checking for the recipe once this challenge is over. I like the set-up. It looks very princess/high-society. The cake looks extremely appetizing, both in its full form and in the slice. Those strawberries are huge and to die for! Choice of settings work very well. I wish the cake was a bit more in focus in the back - this could just be the light on the glaze though. Very delicious looking photo. 8
