Piglets in the Woodlotby PenelopeKComment by Art Roflmao: The one on the left went into the city and rented a high-rise condo, while the other three went on to become famous for building houses of their own. ;-) |

The Thatcher's Pride: Royal Oak Inn, Withypoolby PenelopeKComment by roz: what i really like about this is the sunlight .. the shadows .. the way i've been taken into another world just about .. and the those roofs ..

The Thatcher's Pride: Royal Oak Inn, Withypoolby PenelopeKComment by SaraR: My grandfather thatched this in the 1950s!!!!! He was quite an interesting and somewhat eccentric character - an atheist with a theology degree from Cambridge and a socialist intellectual. He enlisted under age as a stretcher bearer in the First World War, after which he became a life long pacifist and conscientious objector during WW2. I'm not quite sure when he turned his hand to thatching - for most of my mother's childhood at any rate. He gave up when he fell off a ladder and broke his back. |

Young Men Waiting, Plymouth, 2019by PenelopeKComment by Teafran: Being honest, this image does nothing for me and just isn't interesting to me - which is fine - we all don't see the same things in the same way. However, the technical aspects of this are very good so it rates a 7 for technique. |
