I think this was a good idea and really has potential to be a great shot. I love how you kept the shadows as part of the photo. The problems I see are that the main subject doesn't seem in focus, maybe using a higher f-stop would help that. Also the background is very dull. I simple white poster board woould help to add contrast and make it pop a bit more.

The first thing I saw was the owl and my mind did not seem to connect the challenge of Constructed by Man. Having a hard time with this meeting the challenge. The cage is blurred to the point of not really seeing it for the first few moments. Seems like the focus should be on the cage.

I love the black and white and the perspective of the boots. It reminds me of my father when he would come home from hunting in the winter. Nice feel to the photo. Good work!
