Spring Trainingby phiggins24Comment by smudgeSMJ: The lighting here feels harsh and it's the first thing I notice. The frame also feels really crowded. I think a simpler subject - perhaps just the ball and glove? - would help focus on the details. |

Soccer Dogby phiggins24Comment by marcusvdt: completely harsh, weird look. 1. My suggestion to fix it is to use a smaller apperture (higher F number) so you don't loose details on lighter areas of the photo. Also you should try this photo later, when the sun is lower on the horizon. |

Soccer Dogby phiggins24Comment by fldave: Rather harsh lighting which could be calmed with levels or contrast layers. Tilted horizons can work, but this just looks like a hip-shot snapshot to me. |

Victoryby phiggins24Comment by npasel: Nice color, I might have tried a little faster shutter speed. Must be Pinewood Derby somewhere! |

Broken Promisesby phiggins24Comment by mindbottling: The idea is good, the lighting could use a little work. Some indirect lighting or a bounced flash might have helped. I'd also prefer to see less empty space at the top 1/3 of the image. |

Victoryby phiggins24Comment by mindbottling: While the image captures energy, it has more of a snapshot feeling than a photo which stands out on its own. The decapitated adults in the background and pieces of banner in the foreground add contribute to the snapshot feeling. |
