I like the grainyness (intentional or not). Good photo

The background is distracting... the shadow on the right distracts from the star shadows... as does the slab of wood down the left side.

Comment by jmsetzler:
The colorful shadows here are very interesting but the overexposed portion of this photo is fairly annoying in this shot... Photographing subjects where a portion of the area is extremely lighter or darker than another area can fool your camera into 'metering' in the wrong direction. Shots like this aren't as easy as they may seem... - jmsetzler

I like the idea of catching the color of the stained glass in your shadow, plus including both the subject (the shadow) and what created the subject (the stained glass) was a nice touch, esp. for those who like closure (like me). The upper part of the wall washed out, over exposed. The right hand side shadow appears grainy and a bit like dotted color lines, probably undesired. I don't know exactly what causes this (you might want to ask in the forums next week), but it's very distracting and reduces the overall effectiveness of this picture. I hope this helps. I would have liked a tighter crop on this. With the current crop, the string is a distraction.

Not a bad concept, but that background really doesn't cut it. You might try either blasting it with light to blow it out and effectively make it dissapear, or put a jumbo piece of paper in front of it.

This was one of the ideas (kind of) I had, too. I was thinking of making a trip to my local church and taking shots of the stainglass windows. Anyway, I think this photo could have done with a flat background, the shadows thrown by the wood distract from the shadow you want the viewer looking at. I like the composition of where the star and its reflection are positioned in the shot.

A little grainy in the shadow areas, but very nice composition and colors!
