There's something really special about this and I find that I love it more the longer I look at it. It makes me feel sort of melancholy... like it's waiting for someone to return for it. It's going against the 'law' of looking into the picture, yet maybe that is what I like about it.

Either way, it's a great pic. Sometimes I swear people don't look at the pictures at all.

I have one of these dogs.... They have no patience.:) They're great dogs, however. I like the photo. but I think it might score higher if it were a bit sharper and if the pooch were looking at the camera. Comp is nice.

Probably not doing so well as it is not really a portrait.
Here is the wikipedia definition of a portrait:
A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer.

Comment by Nobody:
The minimalist approach. At first glance, I wasn't all that impressed, but its growing on me.
