I half like this a lot and half not as much. The half I like a lot is the top half (actually the top 60-70% or so), nice expression, I like the sparkle in his eyes. I am less fond of the bottom portion, I think because it draws my attention away from his face -- not sure cropping is the answer, but perhaps darkening his blue jeans and possibly his hands a bit might keep my attention on his face a bit better.

I really like the nice contrasty look, lots of darkness with him well lit. Everything is nicely in focus. Pose is good. Just wondering whether you took it at the wide end of your lens because the objects in the foreground look unusually large.

I like the angle and the fairly harsh lighting. However, I think with the sort of DOF you get at these wide apertures you need to nail the focus on the eyes. I think this is very slightly off.

I do like it! The eyes are so great! I really like it when the eyes of a subject pop! They have soul in them. They look as though they have a whole galaxy in them!
