Aftermathby vawendyComment by Neat: I gave you an eight, you are one of the few that really met this challenge. How sad for your neighbour. CanĂ¢€™t get over how many fires start with an electrical fault. I wonder if they had a safety cut out switch? |

Aftermathby vawendyComment by roz: just looking at this photo gives me anxiety ..
its something i worry about .. driving home and imagining that my house has burned down .. i have to consciously put that thought out of my mind .
like careful what you 'wish' for ..
this was a home .. a sanctuary ... i cant imagine what the people who lived there were feeling .. utterly devastating .. hope they were ok .. :) |

Are you sure they're not spiders?by vawendyComment by streetpigeon: Curiosity pushed me to look this up. Under their other name (there are several), harvestmen, we can discover that they're arachnids but not spiders. They have only one pair of eyes and their bodies are not segmented. They belong to a distinct order, Opiliones, distantly related to spiders.
And, oh, this is a terrific image. I love how the close focus on the body leaves most of the legs out of.
Along this line of interesting tidbits, the little tank-like sowbugs are not bugs at all. They are crustaceans. |
