Lazy on a Sunday afternoonby vawendyComment by Teafran: An enjoyable image reflecting the very nature of a lazy Sunday. Very competant conversion to black and white - successful from an artistic standpoint. Perhaps a little better focus/DOF control would have helped the favorable impression sufficiently to boost it's changes to be a top ten image. Still, a very worthy entry into the challenge. |

Lazy on a Sunday afternoonby vawendyComment by BrennanOB: Very nice idea and execution, ought to ribbon. my only gripe is the rather heavy handed dodging on the back of the boy's head. I like the fact that you burned the chair forward to make it the primary feature, but you went a bit too far in that one spot. On the whole, very well done. |

animal-motion-12.jpgby vawendyComment by MaryO: I think the poses in this one lead me to view it more emotively than the challenge entry. I find this one a wee bit more interesting, though the spread wings with the light coming through them were pretty spectacular, visually. Here I I love the poses and the light and shadows on the bird in flight making him very 3-dimensional. I doubt I would have rated this any lower than the challenge entry for technical reasons, especially not in an Animals in Motion challenge! |

final-flight.jpgby vawendyComment by PHOTOKID: I loved this photo in the challenge. The control of DOF in this shot was superb. The way that your wings fade in and out into the background makes for some extreme depth in this photo and really give a great 3d effect.
The feathers on the body are very sharp yet seem smooth at the same time. I also loved the crispness of the background. I also loved the capture of the catch light in the eye. and the placement of the eye on the left vertical 3rd. was beautiful.
It was one of my 10's picked for this challenge and one I had picked to ribbon. Sorry to hear about the DQ. Especially on such a beautiful photo. |
