Very nice capture of this bird. The boy in the BG adds some extra interest. I've never seen a Warbler of this species. Nice to see it here.

He looks positively wicked. Your other shot is the more typical kind, and this is one many would have trashed because he didn't look "perfect".

I would suggest completely dropping the contrast though. The foreground branch in the lower right corner is really distracting, as the bushy bit on the left. I think if you grey everything out the heron will almost appear closer, and he definitely won't be fighting for attention from objects. Those objects will just be shapes if you take away their contrast and texture, which in this case would be an asset. I'd almost suggest cloning the bottom right branch out to create a more simplified flow.

I just noticed the arrow his body is making pointing down. Now if an Arrow challenge comes up I'm going to find myself stalking herons for a week trying to get them to make that shape with their bodies, heh.
