Sweet shot Wendy. The blue flowers and vase take it out of the normal "see the bird" image group.
I wonder if this is existing light with fill, or if you had a flash overhead plus fill?

Great capture of these predators: one resting and one in flight with the day's catch in claw. Details are fabulous. Only one small critique is that it is a shame the full wingspan is not in the composition. However given the rarity of the scene it is understandable that when you have the opportunity, just take the shot to capture the moment. And that you did fabulously.
