The Honey Factory by vawendyComment by giantmike: Neat. I'm guessing that's not a real honeycomb, correct?
I do find myself getting distracted bt what I see in each of the spots. I'm trying to figure out what it is. |

The Honey Factory by vawendyComment by Lydia: 9 from me. If he'd been facing into the frame, it would be a 10... but I love everything else about it. Well done! |

The Honey Factory by vawendyComment by alexlky: Great image! A ribbon contender. I like the sharpness. This shot will be perfect if you wait a little bit longer for the bee head to be more visible.
Anyway, I think I have seen a photo similar to this before. |

Nestingby vawendyComment by skewsme: Not exactly a shabby score for FS... Amazing capture. You have great contrast, depth and sharpness. However this all makes birdy's head blend in with his wing. Maybe a little softening on the far wing would help - a post hoc dof adjustment of sorts. As others mentioned, the light blue-gray background might have been an issue. Perhaps opting for all sepia and then torquing up the golds and whites might have warmed things up a little, although it would make it less clinically accurate. |

Nestingby vawendyComment by MikeO: I liked it and gave it a 7. Free studies are hard but I did expect this to be in the top 20

Nestingby vawendyComment by LN13: Oh lookie. Another bird from Wendy. : )
Honestly, I like it, but I can see how others may have voted it down. I think the plain blue/gray background might hurt. |
