Study in Black and Lightby GeneralEComment by cogerox: High contrast subject doesn't make for a great B&W photo. If you had zoomed in tight on the magnifier perhaps you could have found your middle tones. |

Study in Black and Lightby GeneralEComment by Ivory: Definatly meets the challenge well the stark clear whites and pure blacks really stand out. I would like to have seen it completly fill the frame but still very nice. |

Study in Black and Lightby GeneralEComment by JunieMoon: Very snappy and contrasty, but the subject in the middle seems kind of off. I don't know what it is and I think that something else might have worked better. As a sharp image you get high marks, but not enough midtones to make this a great black and white, and subject is uninteresting. |

As Time Goes Byby GeneralEComment by L2: Hi! Well done on exposing the clock. With this being an advanced editing challenge, I might have cleaned up what appears to be either a reflection gone awry or some other kind of light noise on the right side of the frame and also balanced the vignette effect in the upper left corner of the frame. It's otherwise a pretty crisp and clean shot. One more nitpicky thing, in general when clocks are advertised for sale etc. the time shown on the face is 10:10, to mimic a smile in the subconscious of the viewer. With regard to composition, I think it would have helped here to have the time set at 10:10 and the second hand skimming at the 30th second. Overall, it's a good shot to meet the challenge. Good luck! |

Surrreal Canyonby GeneralEComment by Ann: It doesn't work for me. The processing or whatever made it too hard to figure out what I was looking at. It might do better in an abstract challenge. |
