I don't know, either, but they look interesting. Kind of look like fiber optic flowers.

Very nice, soft light and a nice vignette effect as it falls off towards the back.

General, You undoubtedly have the most unique entries of all! From dead to dandelion. Gotta love it.
I am amazed at the aperture, ISO, and shutter speeds you employ.

Thanks!

I confess I don't pay much attention to the aperture setting -- I prioritize ISO first because my camera sensor is so noisy, then shutter-speed to (usually) minimize the blur. I let the camera set the aperture, unless I have a composition where it's essential to control the DOF more than the noise.

In the case of this dandelion, I had some slack in the shutter-speed because of bright, late-afternoon sunlight. If I had seen how this would come out -- I was in the parking lot on my way home from work -- I might have opened the aperture more to further blur the fence, though that might also have made the foreground too OOF for some folks.

Throughout my life I've "popped so many babies' heads off", but couldn't have told you that your photo was of a dandelion. I have really got to stop and pay attention!

Nice idea, but I wish the abacus was more of a focal point than the text in front.
