I understand what you are doing but a longer exposure probably would have worked better here...It would have blurred the balls to where all that was visible would be the colors..

I just photographed this sphere last week and when I get to processing them I'm going to compare the tree growth that has occurred in 24 years time. I don't know if you remember this but this sphere was coated with arcylic triangles that kept the buildings below impervious to rain. Until it burned down off in 1976, but the structure survived with little damage until it was re-baptised in 1995 as an environmental museum.

They're just starting to fade around here - I do like that you caught one still in bud form. And you had a calm day, it appears! I can never get the full ones with the petals all in place.

Yep, it's a flower. :-) A bit too bright for me. Direct sunlight can be quite harsh.
