Fleur de Leavesby GeneralEComment by onepurplerose: I like the colors. IMO I would not center the subject. Move it to the left or to the right a tad when you frame in your image. Becareful with shadows, on my monitor they look really dark and are distracting. I do like the glow in leaf it gives it some interest! |

Conflicting Standardsby GeneralEComment by Yo_Spiff: Great way to make a strong statement. In my opinion, a large part of photography is in recognizing the interesting shot when it presents itself. I'm afraid however, that I find the execution of this to be somewhat flat looking and not well composed. The biggest issue is way too much empty sky at the top that does not do anything for the scene. I'd suggest cropping in a lot closer to focus the eye on the elements that this is about. A bit of tweaking to make it pop a bit might help as well. I do think you've got some great material here to work with. |

In The Smithyby GeneralEComment by Terrence_Karney: I don't think the soft focus helps here. I'd also like to see some action, as the metal is at striking temperature, and the smith needs to work it before it goes back into the forge, or gets too cold to work.
If something was happening, I'd find the lack of any point of focus more acceptable. |
