Obvious tripod use: The tripod in the shot itself is very obvious. So on that front it meets perfectly. For the camera taking the overall photo, that could have definitely been done without a tripod. At first, I didn't really see the tripod in the shot, so you may get some people wondering how this fits the challenge.

Although a tripod is in the shot, one wasn't needed for the shot to turn out well. It could have been done handheld.

Not sure if the voters will be nice to this one. The photo although has a main subject and nice bokeh in the background seems a bit flat. There is no real "pop" to the photo to keep the eyes happy. Just my thought though.

DPC has changed a lot since this challenge, as have the software and hardware/cameras. By today's tech standards, not the most "whiz bang" of images, but for you, I'm sure that it's a nice little "remember this day" sort of photo, and that's what snapshots are all about.

With slightly different lighting, you could have hid the wrinkles in the fabric while highlighting the blade. A highlight on the blade would have added a bit more of a menacing feeling to the image. I like that the vegetable looks a bit like a human heart.
