Oliver Twistby GeneralEComment by posthumous: all the details of the photo are comfortable middle class, which underlines that this photo is only an exercise (seeing some dirt on his right hand just makes it seem more contrived). on a positive note, I like the composition of dark shapes protruding from the background. It gives a sculptural feel to the image. 4 |

Oliver Twistby GeneralEComment by snaffles: Good image but missing that little bit extra - he's meant to be asking for more porridge so there should be some hint of residue in the spoon and bowl. |

Vitreous Vampyrby GeneralEComment by rjkstesch: I am really not sure what this is and whether it is a door, etc. It is an interesting image. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. 5 |

Oliver Twistby GeneralEComment by RKT: 4...Oh I wish I could give you more, because I do like your idea, and the fact that you did more than merely search out a title to match an image. This tells me you know a bit of what's going on between the covers. I've handed you a 4 becasue I think this is poorly crafted. There is that weird little hot white pixel above the left side of his head. There is also a grayish one right above the left thumb. Maybe it's stuff on the ground, but it could have been cloned or healed away. There is also a haloing around some edges, perhaps from over sharpening. It's also noisy. I don't mind some natural looking grain sort of noise, and sometimes digital noise works, but for this image I don't care for it. Lastly, the B&W conversion is quite flat. I think a simple levels or curve adjustment might help that. Simple little technical fixes would make this quite a nice little photograph. |

Oliver Twistby GeneralEComment by mariuca: Too bad that you did not find a boy to hold the bowl. There are a few inconsistencies here determined mostly by the awkwardness of the sitter. I would be happy if you will revisit this idea. I would like to see the result.

Oliver Twistby GeneralEComment by lunachicken: There are some excellent shots in this challenge that really reflect not just the title of the book, but the content as well. This is one of them. The second I opened this I could hear his voice in my head politely asking for some more, please. Bonus points for doing this as a grainy dark black and white. 9 |
