The bright red and the other elements pull from the central piece, and the orientation of the handles means the viewer can't really see teh detail of the knobs.

FWIW - I found the debris over the 3 very distracting, and since the 34 carries more visual weight than the 02:16, it draws the eye to the debris. The shadows on the left of the image appear to be over important elements. Not sure exactly what you were going for, but there are enough distracting elements present to prevent it from giving a clear message.
