Golden Gateby GeneralEComment by Anachronite: seems more like digital art than photography... kind of over processed.. I would love to see this shot as it was taken... |

Where Have All The Flowers Gone?by GeneralEComment by crabappl3: I think the patters on the wall are interesting. I feel the picture would have been stronger had you stood the photo up so it's not on its side and also did a horizontal flip to have the tall plant on the left side. We tend to scan from left to right, so having the empty space on the left makes the shot seem a bit unbalanced. Being that the photo doesn't haev much color in it, that seems fine, but you may need to do an unmask sharpen after resizing the photo down to 640x?. Your cropping is fine, you may have wanted to include a little more of the table so as to balance the white space at the top.
All in all this is an emotional photo. It is thought provoking and makes me wonder more about the subject in the photo. |

Golden Gateby GeneralEComment by DougPaz: This is such a beautiful shot but it seems too unatural. The moss in the foreground looks oversharpened because of the color. I would like to see the original out of the camera. |

Golden Gateby GeneralEComment by jab119: looks like too much unsharp mask was used...the edges of the tree in the foreground take away from the pic. nice job on framing and composition. |

Golden Gateby GeneralEComment by Bullwinkle: Very spooky. Armageddon or what? The use of complimentary blue and yellow hues is interesting. An unusual but dramatic color choice for water. The steeple piercing the bottom centre also has real kinetic thrust. This is an arresting diversion from a theme that could be plauged by calendar attempts. Thank you for venturing so creatively. A good image. |

Exam Roomby GeneralEComment by GeneralE: Thanks all for your comments -- my "strange" object has never been identified at any of several "guess the object" games, yet there is a picture of one in my older copy of The Joy Of Cooking. I think I'll wait a week before I reveal all, however...
I did use the on-camera flash, and I also intentionally left the lighting a little harsh and cold to accentuate the metallic elements. |
