Coup de Grâceby GeneralEComment by Maverick: Sorry, I can't tell what this is or how it relates to the challenge. The image isn't all that appealing either. |

Coup de Grâceby GeneralEComment by Quadrajet: I really don't know what to make of this image. I'm pretty sure that in the background is a woman (or man with long hair) resting her/his head on his/her folded arms. I'm trying to figure out what that pole is doing going across the image. Unfortunately it doesn't really seem to help the composition any. As a matter of fact it seems to destroy any semblance of continuity the image had going for it in the first place.
The colors are pretty bland, while the contrast is very high. The highlights are washed out and it's hard to make out detail in the dark portions of the shot.
I'm sorry, this is not one of my favorite images in this contest.

Coup de Grâceby GeneralEComment by Zal: Interesting interpertation of the challenge, but it's really tough to see how your photo is a coup de grace. I guess the blurry stick was supposed to be the weapon? All I can see behind it is some hair. Great idea, but poor execution (no pun intended). :-) |

Coup de Grâceby GeneralEComment by Pidd: This is the third time I have returned to this entry trying my best to figure out what it is. All I really see is hair and a pole of some kind but it is impossible for me to establish exactly what the image is or in what context I should be recognizing it as relating to grace--of any kind (I'm afraid your title isn't helping much). I do like the lighting on the hair and how it brings out the highlights so beautifully. Other than that, it's just not all that interesting a shot. |

Coup de Grâceby GeneralEComment by Ornis: Means something in french, but far away from the topic of this challenge. To be honest, the play on words is not adequate here, and the picture doesn't show enough to be legible. |

Into The Unknownby GeneralEComment by GeneralE: Thanks for all the comments. Lego-guys have usually done almost as well as the little wooden action figures.
For everyone who wanted the comparison, here is the color original:

Into The Unknownby GeneralEComment by reevey: Ah takes me back that does... I'd like to see a colour version of this actually, to compare them, but hey, great shot! Simple but effective! |
