They Roost By Nightby GeneralEComment by drgsoell: Nice silhouette on the birds. They seem a bit fuzzy maybe. Not sure this is "after Dark" when you can still see the sunset. Good color on the sky. |

They Roost By Nightby GeneralEComment by HBunch: Love the sky. Really beautiful. The birds and the pole seem to be a bit soft on the focus though. that would be my only suggestion would be that I wish they were a bit more crisp. Otherwise, a really pretty shot. I like how you put the pole to one side, and not directly in the middle of the shot. Definately makes a difference on how this looks. nice find. ~Heather~ |

Flash Photographer At Workby GeneralEComment by blindjustice: I understand what you are doing but the flash only annoys. the composition is really good with that ceiling and yes, as youv'e heard, th efocus is off. but altogether, its ok. |

Stand Tallby GeneralEComment by ellamay: hi and happy new year! lynn from the CC here, I am intimidated givng thoughts on a SC members shot : ) and I am new at this.. but here goes my thoughts...While I like silhoutted type shots, what I think this one is missing(my biggest criticism) is a little is detail in the dark areas, I think if you are going to have your main subject 'blackened' it is nice if there is lots of detail to highlight the shapes to make it really jump. So perhaps using a subject of a kind of tree that is a little more 'branchy?' just an idea. This shot however does have (the highlight of this shot which IMO), is the beautiful light coming from behind the cloud/tree. The bright edge of the cloud is lovely too. I would like to see the left side cropped a little tighter. I do like that your title and border are more subtle still in nature, hence not distracting from the image. BTW I agree with you that the shot has tensions in it, which I also like. Happy shooting : ), hope it helped a little. |

San Francisco's Golden Gateby GeneralEComment by xhoss: Beautiful atmospheric element. I might crop a little off the bottom though (probably half the dark "stuff") to put more emphasis on the sky. Are you referring to the sky as the "golden" gate? I can see where the GG is *i think* but it's a stretch. Nice work. |
