Hard-Won ...by GeneralEComment by magnus: It took me a while to figure this one out, until I remembered that back in the old days before USB some mice came with plugs that looked like that. Too esoteric. |

Hard-Won ...by GeneralEComment by photom: An extra point for the clever idea! Colors are great aginst the black background - and great lighting. Compositionally, I'd like to see more of the trap and definitely the entire silver end of the PS/2 cable. |

One Monkey Short of a Full Benchby GeneralEComment by GeneralE: Originally posted by Bran-O-Rama: Bench is slanted and does not benefit from this abstract angle, even though shrine/wall in back is horizontally level. |
The bench is slanted -- it would look far stupider (IMO) to have the bench level and the reflected rooflines slanted ...
Maybe I should re-title this "Now I Feel So Blue" :) |

One Monkey Short of a Full Benchby GeneralEComment by GeneralE: Well, since I am red-green color-blind, I always have trouble with blues and purples. In this case, I was relying on Isaac's opinion that the monkeys themselves had a dusky purple color to them, somewhat like elderberries ... I can't really argue the case either way from Photoshop's densitometry info, as the borderline between blues and purples is so nebulous. |

Griller in the Mistby GeneralEComment by GeneralE: Originally posted by AndrewWest: First off might I say to you ... |
Thanks, I think you have the right idea, except for suggesting I make Isaac stand in a cold shower!
That wasn't really necessary anyhow, as I've apparently fooled you with (as I recall) a Photoshop effect and not real lens fog ... there was no "mist" as the shower was tepid, and I think I had to use the flash to get a decent exposure, freezing the large drops (not very mist-like). |

Griller in the Mistby GeneralEComment by AndrewWest: First off might I say to you - I love the humor that you have allowed this image to possess by giving it such a hilarious title. It definately helps one to understand where you are coming from when you took this photograph.
Now, to be honest with you. I would have had the young man in the image stand more in from of the shadows in which his body throws off from the light, yet still managing to cover the portion of the body that you have along with spatula just as you have it.
I realize that your title read "Griller", although it is known that hot water will cause any "glass" materials to fog up. Thus you can see it did this to your lense. I would suggest that any future projects such as this that you turn the cold water on just for a little bit that way you can get the mist clearly without the fog distracting the lens. Although the fog does make one clearly visualize the heat in the shower, it takes away from the quality of the image. |
