Foot Bridge to the Falls P&S versionby LeoComment by spiritualspatula: Ha, yeah, definitely a lot bigger than the ones I generally see around here.
That's more like the ones I see around here. The biggest difference seems to be that they are rarely straight drops (that I've seen), they always cascade down stones.
I remember how awesome it was the first time I went and saw a waterfall like the one in your shot- I saw Wallace Falls outside of Seattle.
Wallace Falls FWIW, that picture they have really doesn't do much for the scene. Message edited by author 2010-11-08 22:39:09. |

Foot Bridge to the Falls P&S versionby LeoComment by Leo: Originally posted by spiritualspatula: You can definitely see the difference in dynamic range with this side by side. That's one thing I've noticed with the LX3, that the difference isn't as huge as I've seen with other cameras.
Beautiful scene, though I'm curious how much higher up the falls descend from. I've always had a softspot for waterfalls, and there aren't all that many here, or at least they aren't of the sort that you have where you are. That and the verdant growth, making everything fuzzy with green. |
Per Wikipedia, the falls are 249 feet high. Yes, the Columbia Gorge has many falls.

Thanks Tom, Latourell Falls seems to be a favorite place of mine lately. |

Dany (pronounced Danny)by LeoComment by scooter97: I'm sorry that you lost your friend and that you had him for such a short time. Pictures are the memories of things that we are not always able to remember clearly. This shot shows personality! Message edited by author 2010-11-07 17:55:34. |
