One of my favourites of the competition. Similar idea to my own submission, although done with a lot more subtlety and grace. The handwritten "John" is a really nice touch! Somewhat greater DoF might have been better, since everything but the rings is a little tricky to discern. And I don't think the glass adds anything to the impact - cropping everything to the right of his mouth could make it stronger. In any case, well done.

This is a glass of water away from perfection, (I think that's what is filling the right quarter of the frame?). It just pulls the eye away from the important components of the frame. An 8 anyway.

I can relate. Good idea, well displayed. I think the slight under-exposure, and B&W work well for this concept. I don't often score 10's but this gets one.

really lovely.....this is an image I can imagine printed. It's the balance between the details/colours of the hummingbird and the complimentary colours/textures of the background that make this image stand out to me.

Seriously though, this is a good looking shot and well conceived. A bit more of the lower part of the model would be good. Nice use of white and well exposed.
