Two things I notice straight away.
Softness (of focus?) and poor composition.
In terms of composition, there seems to be no balance within the frame. What is the main focal point - is it that pole, the signage on the left, the frontage of the building of the right? The pole and the overall image feels tilted and the top of the pole dissects the frame and the sky, breaking what flow there was from the left to the right. I just can't find a place for the eye to settle.
I like the black and white with sepia toning to place the buildings in time.
I wonder if other viewpoints would have provided a more aesthetically pleasing image.

Very pretty. I'm not sure I like the color of the shot...it's kind of yellowish. Your pictures make me want to go back to DC for some photos! We were there last spring, but I only had my Mavica fd92.

Hi Barbara...

I do enjoy infrared images. This one lights up nicely with strong contrast. The only element that looks odd to me is the color of the fountain. The hue in that area doesn't seem to match the overall feel of the rest of the scene...

Although the sky has a nice contrasty/ moody look to it, I think the image might have worked better in landscape orientation. Great capture nonetheless. :)

You have the motion blur on the main subject,but the same is way down ,too small and overshadowed by the tree.Nice night shot ,but only 30% meets the challenge!
