The Followingby rooumComment by tanguera: This may be the most haunting image in the challenge. There is something very terrifying about it to me, as though he's being sucked up by the dark forces he's conjured with his own missteps. It has stayed with me long after first viewing it. There is such angst. Amazing. |

The Followingby rooumComment by De Sousa: The idea behind the Posthumous Ribbon is to encourage you to break the rules, to find new and different ways to express yourself. To free your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come, to laugh at world and at life, not doing what others are expecting you to do, but just following and listening to what's in your heart. DPC it̢۪s a wonderful learning place where everyone should be supported on their way to be a photographer. A special attention should be aimed to those working hard with different views and approaches to photography, those not aligned with the mainstream taste and receiving no recognition. It̢۪s our responsibility to support these photographers creating diversity and expressing different visions. Being active at the Posthumous thread it̢۪s the best way to do it. Being active at the Posthumous thread it̢۪s the best way to protect your and the other̢۪s freedom of being different. Thanks for taking the time to enter this challenge. Stay wild. |

The Followingby rooumComment by Paul: This one has me and I can't say why. That must be good!
A gripping image that transcends technical competence.
I've been thinking about this image, wondering why it appeals - it has a familiarity about it, one that it reminiscent of an old TV picture, the coloration and lighting seem to match that and I do while looking get a 'watching TV' feeling. I think it's main power is in how it leaves the viewer wondering - the tight framing robbing us of any chance of placing the image in context. His emotion - he could be talking, shouting; he could be angry, he could be telling a joke.
The image itself is easily critiqued (some will hammer you for it) but the reaction it provokes is something else entirely. Message edited by author 2010-12-03 11:49:00. |

The Followingby rooumComment by bvy: Love the raw intensity here. Feels like a TV still or something up close and candid in an angry crowd (trading floor comes to mind for no good reason). The blur is not only acceptable, it's necessary. |
