Abstractions #048by rooumComment by rooum: Originally posted by hajeka: No obvious motion blur here for me, but perhaps that's because (again) I've no idea what this is. |
It's a shot of two people walking across the road in the snowy mist. Blurry legs. The lights are from the cars waiting at the traffic lights. |

Abstractions #048by rooumComment by hajeka: Entered or not, it's a nice abstract. I like the colors and the texture, although the right side is somewhat blown out. No obvious motion blur here for me, but perhaps that's because (again) I've no idea what this is. |

Abstractions #047by rooumComment by hajeka: I've no idea what I see here, but I like the repetition of the black shape on the white background. |

Li'l Saint Hervéby rooumComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: How bizarre! A good thing! I like the coloration, the blur and I very much like the emerging green fence behind the subject.
Critical stuff: To my eye the composition is suboptimal, I'd have cropped a bit more from the right side I think; having said that, the slight unbalancing of the composition does contribute to a general uneasiness which suits the over feel of the image. The eyes... again mixed feelings - I don't like them being so prominent, the effect is out of kilter with the rest of the image. Having said that, I can't deny they draw you in and almost define the image. The question is - do they over-define? I'm undecided.
Overall: A fascinating image full of unusual (but influential) choices. I like how your image make me (the viewer) deal with it on your terms. |

The Followingby rooumComment by bohemka: I came back to this again and again. It's amazing. I didn't know how to explain what it meant because hell, it could be your dad, or you, or your wife's new dude. Still might be, I don't know. But I've figured it out and have ruled out the evangelist, etc., and have one name for you: Raleigh Theodore Sakers. Look him up. He could very well be dead by now, but here he is, in all his glory, in your photo. |
